B Pressure Training - Initial B & Upgrades

GRB provides B Pressure training that is usually necessary to test for and pass the ABSA Initial B test. We can train you by the hour or via a tax deductible course. Once you receive your initial B ticket you can then train and test for the other B Pressure upgrade tickets shown below.

'B' Pressure
GRB's "B" Pressure courses offer Journeyman Welders the opportunity to train on pipe. The welders can choose to practice on pipe using procedures and processes which include shield metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW) or gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), on -- mild steel - stainless steel - chrome - monel - inconel - aluminum - and titanium pipe.

Initial 'B' Pressure
Training and/or practice for initial "B"" Pressure Certificate of Competency is available through GRB COLLEGE OF WELDING, HOWEVER ACTUAL TESTING IS CARRIED OUT (BY APPOINTMENT) through the Alberta Boiler Safety Association testing facility.

Advanced 'B' Pressure Testing & Courses
Advanced "B" Pressure courses are available to Welders holding a valid "B" Pressure Certificate of Competency of Performance qualification card. GRB is authorized by Alberta Boiler Safety Association, to engage in conducting Pressure Welder Performance Qualification Testing in accordance with the provisions of the Boilers and Pressure Vessels Act.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Stainless TIG is an advanced process
that requires a welder posses his/her Alberta B Pressure, Carbon TIG ticket and small bore B Pressure ticket as prerequisites for training. If you have no TIG training take a look at our Carbon TIG / Stainless TIG Combo course below.
- All courses with the exception of Initial B include the test upon completion of the course.
-
Base rates only apply to basic training. Hourly rates increase depending on the type of training requested.
