Funding Information
Student Financing/Funding
comes in many shapes and sizes but it should be made clear that
GRB College of Welding does not fund its own courses. If you are
looking for funding please read on as we'll give you a simplified
guide to help you decide where to start.
If you are not a Landed Immigrant or Canadian Citizen:
- Government funding is only available to Landed Immigrants and
Citizens of Canada. GRB College of Welding can still enroll you
as a student but you must pay for your education on your own. Prepayment
is required for all students including Landed Immigrants and Citizens.
Please note that you will have to take care of visa, immigration
and or housing matters before attending GRB College of Welding.
Please contact for more information on moving to or
residing in Canada.
If you are a Landed Immigrant or Canadian Citizen but you
are not a resident of Alberta:
- Contact the for details and provincial
phone numbers.
If you are resident of Alberta:
- If you are a resident of Alberta you can apply for an (Phone: 780-427-3722) or pay for the course with
cash, (cheque or Interac) a bank loan or credit card. Student loans
must be repaid.
If you are not working and you ARE collecting Employment Insurance:
- If you are not working and you are collecting please call your EI counselor. (Employment Insurance
does fund our courses, but each person is subject to individual
restrictions and or limitations.)
If you are not working and you are NOT collecting Employment
Insurance:
- If you are not working and have no source of income you should
start by calling at 780-425-6655. BGS is a counseling company that
refers potential new students for grant money. (Grant money in general
does not have to be paid back.)
If you are Aboriginal:
- If you are aboriginal under treaty 6 or 8 please call
at 444-0911. The counselors at Oteenow may fund you or direct you
toward the correct source of funding if necessary.
If you are Metis:
- If you are Metis please call at 780-423-2237. The counselors at Metis Nation
of Alberta may fund you or direct you toward the correct source
of funding if necessary.

The Pre-Employment Welding Program offers a new intake date every
3 weeks.
