Funding Information

Student Financing/Funding comes in many shapes and sizes but it should be made clear that GRB College of Welding does not fund its own courses. If you are looking for funding please read on as we'll give you a simplified guide to help you decide where to start.

If you are not a Landed Immigrant or Canadian Citizen:
- Government funding is only available to Landed Immigrants and Citizens of Canada. GRB College of Welding can still enroll you as a student but you must pay for your education on your own. Prepayment is required for all students including Landed Immigrants and Citizens. Please note that you will have to take care of visa, immigration and or housing matters before attending GRB College of Welding. Please contact Citizenship and Immigration Canada for more information on moving to or residing in Canada.

If you are a Landed Immigrant or Canadian Citizen but you are not a resident of Alberta:
- Contact the Canadian National Student Loans Service Center for details and provincial phone numbers.

If you are resident of Alberta:

- If you are a resident of Alberta you can apply for an Alberta Student Loan (Phone: 780-427-3722) or pay for the course with cash, (cheque or Interac) a bank loan or credit card. Student loans must be repaid.

If you are not working and you ARE collecting Employment Insurance:
- If you are not working and you are collecting Employment Insurance please call your EI counselor. (Employment Insurance does fund our courses, but each person is subject to individual restrictions and or limitations.)

If you are not working and you are NOT collecting Employment Insurance:
- If you are not working and have no source of income you should start by calling BGS Enterprises at 780-425-6655. BGS is a counseling company that refers potential new students for grant money. (Grant money in general does not have to be paid back.)
